About

About the Wishing Well Foundation

The Wishing Well provides new and gently-used clothing and school supplies to children 0-18 years of age who are currently placed in the foster care system in Pierce County. We are the only foster support agency of its kind working in Pierce County.

We are a nonprofit support agency focused on the well-being of abused and neglected youth within the foster care system. Our mission is to provide the clothing, supplies, and experiences unavailable to most foster kids and to retain quality foster homes in Pierce County by addressing financial barriers to accepting foster placements.

Our furniture bank is filling up fast, but thanks to our amazing volunteer, Kristina (organizing extraordinaire) and Sheron who helped complete our space with the most perfect curtains, the vision has come to life! We, together, are providing a much needed resource and helping so many families and children in our community!

A special shout out to the Terribilini family and so many others, who have purchased countless items on our Amazon Wish list (lamps, shower curtains, bedding, rugs). These gifts have allowed us to add that special touch for individuals moving into their first home 🏠

Thanks to all of the great furniture donations coming in from our amazing community we have been able to help 14 households so far this month! While some just needed a bed or dresser, others had completely empty apartments that we were able to help fill with all of the essentials and turn their house into a home.

It has been a bit tricky coordinating the pickup of the items that have been offered, but the donor can't deliver, so I thought I would check in and see if anyone is willing/interested in picking up donated furniture items to bring back to the Wishing Well?

If so, please send me a PM with your cell number and local area (ex Bonney Lake, Lakewood, Tacoma, Spanaway, etc). My plan is to set up a group for each area and send out a text with what needs to be picked up and if anyone is available to do itt they can respond...if not, not big deal.

Thanks in advance for the continued support!
