About the Wishing Well Foundation

The Wishing Well provides new and gently-used clothing and school supplies to children 0-18 years of age who are currently placed in the foster care system in Pierce County. We are the only foster support agency of its kind working in Pierce County.

We are a nonprofit support agency focused on the well-being of abused and neglected youth within the foster care system. Our mission is to provide the clothing, supplies, and experiences unavailable to most foster kids and to retain quality foster homes in Pierce County by addressing financial barriers to accepting foster placements.

Our Partners

We have had several referrals/clients through the Furniture bank this month and we are in need of a few items to restock. If you, or anyone you know has crib mattresses, dressers, platform bed frames, or smaller coffee table/tv stands we would love to accept those.

If you have an item you would like to donate please email thewishingwellwafurniture@outlook.com with the following:
Name of item(s) in subject line
A picture/description if possible
Can you deliver or do we need to pick up? If pick up, what location?

Thank you so much for continuing to support our foster youth and caregivers

We are excited to share the news that as of January 1, 2022 the Wishing Well is expanding our services to help support foster youth in Kitsap and Thurston county.
We are not opening another location, however, foster youth in those counties will now be able to come and shop at the Wishing Well.
We will also be accepting requests from youth in Kitsap/Thurston to help fund sports and enrichment activities through our Little Wishes program.
Thank you to all who continue to support our mission to improve the lives of as many foster youth as possible. We couldn't do this work without you!

And that is a wrap for 2021:
805 youth shopped at the WW
167 youth received items from our furniture bank
25 HS grads received baskets, gift cards, and more!
629 children received holiday gifts

Through various grants and financial donations we were able to:
Host several drive through events (pizza night, take and paint Halloween cookies) a small in person event with princesses, and a visit with Santa 🎅🏼
We helped foster youth in extended care with rent assistance, car repairs, work related needs, etc
We provided laptops and headphones to any foster youth in need.

We look forward to continuing this important work in 2022 and extend our gratitude to all of those in the community that support our mission to improve the lives of youth placed in foster care ❤️

They do amazing work. So helpful to the foster care community not just in clothing and in items for the home, but with sports scholarships, camps, and many other provisions for foster children to experience life enhancing and enjoyable activites. Awesome organization!!!
